reverb

Post by sylnau »

The reverb of my amp is very good, it's a tube reverb and stuff...
But I'm gasing so hard for a Red Panda Context... I'm I sick or just a pedal junky or I really need it?

I much prefer the versatility of pedal reverbs to amps, especially since I'm not that keen on the spring sound. If you want the options of different reverb types I'd say go for it.

I like the reverbs on my amps but I also find the context to give some really nice other reverb sounds. It even has a delay/reverb setting. Since you are a pedal-person I would definitely check out the context. Only issue I ever have with the context is infrequent clipping but just watch the blend knob.

You can't do those ridiculously droney deep verb sounds on an amp.
Get the best of both worlds if you'll use it :thumb:

The Context is really great, has a little more tweakability than my big box RRR with some unique modes. I think I like the voicing of the RRR a little better but I'd love if it had attack and decay controls like the Context. They're both keepers imo and between those and my new Spring Chicken LTD, I have all the verb I'll ever need. I hope.

I've never been a fan of spring reverb, so pedal reverb is my joint.

I've had a bunch of amps (Fenders and Ampegs) with highly regarded reverb, and I've always found it to be basically a useless feature because I like versatile pedal reverbs so much more. That Context is so sexy sounding, I'm sure once you get it you'll be blown away, and (like me) wonder why anyone nowadays bothers to build reverb into their amps.

love the reverb on the acoustic
full on all the time
as much as i miss the rrr
i dont spend enough time sound/noisewise
where it could really be appreciated
and the full wet setting i used on it
what i was goin for i can achieve with the onboard trem
but i can fully control the speed now
im still itchin for a ghost echo
but i think id drop the hundy gettin the randalls verb fixed
when i do im gonna build a dual footswitch for both amps
hopefully incorporate the treadle idea to adjust the speeds
