Cheap, loud, bass amp.

I need a cheap loud head. I was thinking a Peavey Mark VIII. What else should I look for, ILF?

that concert bass would do the trick nicely. when you can find them, the ampeg v6b is usually around $200. did you get that one you were looking at ryan?

Yeah, I had an HA3500 and it sounded both awesome and LOUD. Really, really loud if needed.
Only thing I disliked about it was that the preamp kinda farted out if driven too hard. This is why I like my Peavey 400 Series, sounds a-okay if you smack it.

Another rec for peavey/acoustic stuff, it mostly sounds pretty good and they're all loud.

Score either an Acoustic 370 or a Coliseum series Sunn. They lack no equal in terms of cheap related to loud. Though, fucking Coliseums are expensive now. So, really, get the Acoustic.
