Fender Dimension Bass

Post by Grrface »

Well, it looks interesting. Seems like a MM sort of idea? If it's all passive, it might have piqued my interest, since it's got all sorts of growly going on.

The Triplebucker has a pretty good sound. Versatile sound too from the demo.
Can't say the bass itself does anything for me though. But I'd like the pickup in a P bass or even better a Mustang bass.

I like the sounds from that pickup, and the white/maple one actually looks pretty nice imo.

That was the first thing I noticed. His technique, especially right hand, is hard to watch. Made me cringe a bit because it looked so unnatural.

Would it have killed them to put a 10-second clip of how it sounds with a pick?

You can't feel your basslines with a pick, man.
Bass is all about the tone from your fingers.

Duh.

I know you're joking, but I've been playing almost exclusively with my fingers for the past several months just because my bass sounds fatter that way. Don't get me wrong though, I love me some good pick action too.

His technique is really bad with that right hand. Looks like it'd hurt after like 5 minutes of playing.

This bass sounds pretty good. I wonder how the neck feels. Fenders are hit or miss with me depending on the neck.

Oh yeah, there's certainly an advantage to using finger-style. I definitely need to improve those skills myself.
I just saw the opportunity to make fun of that stereotype so I went for it

But playing with a pick is a completely sound, would definitely be nice to hear that in their demos.

I don't see the point of making a demo of how a guitar/bass sounds if you're only gonna exhibit a really narrow range of playing styles. Considering how many people use a pick on bass you would think that most reviewers would think to exhibit that.
On the other hand, nobody ever seems to demo electric guitars with fingerstyle playing, which is pretty annoying for me at least.

That dimension bass looks pretty sweet though, I like the fact that it only has one pickup/two knobs but still plenty of tonal variation.

The demo for that Fender Mustang with the P-90's has fingerstyle and some sweet overdrive riffing.
It made me want on

He doesn't do a ton of guitar demos, he mostly only does the pedals, but Andy from PGS plays exclusively fingerstyle. :idk:
