also watch the films thief (1981) and sorcerer(1977) - the tangerine dream soundtracks really create the mood with the visuals.

well no, but to me Krautrock is like the autobahn going through the country, whereas Neubauten is the car crash at the end of it.

That was beautiful

Wait wat. DIJ is pretty un kraut. Theyre pretty much on the exact opposite of the spectrum of post punk euro music.

Amon Düül II's Yeti is sort of an essential. No one's mentioned Faust yet? Weird. IV and So Far are their most accessible, but I love The Faust Tapes too. Manuel Göttsching/anything Ashra/Ash Ra Tempel is great. Can and Neu!, obviously. Harmonia are fun. Emeralds and side projects (especially Mark McGuire) are great if you're looking for newer kosmische stuff. Oneida are a great, newer Kraut-influenced band too.

I don't even know what GTAV is.... First 6 are essential......

I can condense it down to specific albums by Ash Ra Temple/Amon Duul II/Faust/Can/Cluster as the absolute essentials and throw a little motherfucking Guru Guru/Neu!/Klaus Schulze/Tangerine Dream/Popol Vuh as second tier..... Mind you second tier krautrock for me banks higher than most other music on my radar.....
