Regarding the "what the Cosmi is like to chorus" comment, I don't think that's possible for a delay without menus massive DSP power like the Timeline. I think it's an unfair comparison to make. But maybe I'm biased towards Strymanz.

If I didn't have a Timeline, I'd be getting the ILFDD. I'm kind of considering it still.

I dunno, I mean, Cosmi is good because it takes all of the features you can want in a chorus, gives you a large range of values, max control and sounds good anywhere you put the knobs. I don't think you have to be in the digital domain to do that for a delay, nor do you need massive processing power to do it. Regardless of whether Ryan chooses to use DSP (Spin) or "old school" digital or analogue or whatever, I think he'll be able to deliver an experience that definitely does to delay what Cosmi does to chorus. There is nothing inherently tricky in chorus that makes it difficult to model in DSP - even the Spin chip can do some wacky stuff (see Mr Black double chorus thinger). Any of the modulation boxes (Eventide, Strymon) can do loads more stuff technically speaking than the Cosmi.

But the Cosmi still rules all choruses.

So ah... it's not the size of your delay line, but how you use it?
ba dum ching.

I just don't know if I want it in my loins or if my loins want in it.

Either way it's going to be badass. You guys will dig it because A)hello, custom etch! :) B)Dr. Scientist makes a KILLER pedal. Doesn't need everything a Timeline has to be a good delay. Just needs to be it's sexy self.

I don't think that this is trying to do the same thing as the Cosmi. The ILFDD isn't trying to be the end all delay in terms of features, though it certainly has a lot of them, it seems like it's just meant to be versatile and very good sounding one, and from what I've seen of the SDD it will do that really well.

Good point. In my first post was about Ryan's next delay, the mythical RDD. And i guess just a general observation.

I don't think of the ILFDD as my next delay pedal, this is just a very slightly modified SDD and this is more about a cool thing to do for ILFers/SDD fans rather than a new pedal release. All my future delay plans are kinda on hold for the moment, I don't really want to take on a big analog project again just yet but I do think there'll come a day when I decide to make a powerful analog delay. I don't think it'll be called the Rainy Day Delay though, sorry Andy or whoever coined that!

I think I'd rather do a Spin based delay in the meantime, I prefer the clean clear digital delay sound anyway...

I definitely don't think that even though Strymon has made very powerful versions of effects that that means nobody else needs to make any other effects any more. I think it's a certain kind of user that wants all their pedal power in one pedal with menu screens.. there's always gonna be a need for pedals that do one thing powerfully well without menus. Just like there'll always be a need for simple 3 knob pedals that just sound great. Although I was sure when the Segway was invented that people wouldn't walk or use bikes or scooters any more...

Pcbs are finished now....

That's it. I had it in my head that it was going to have tap tempo, but that seemed to be conflicting with something, so thanks for clarifying.
