I think it has something to do with the droning aspect of fuzz. That and the powerful feeling of playing it combined with the harmonic complexity.

Fuzz is a healer, the raspiness is like sand paper on the corner of our everyday problems; it rounds things up, it makes us feel better, it makes us feel right.
Fuzz is real, the rawness channels our bare emotions, it makes us relate to one another, it makes us focus.
Fuzz is catharsis, the grit echoes the anger and the pain, it liberates us, it makes us feel good.
Fuzz is a need and fuzz is a must.

Before I was on ILF I only had one fuzz ped and now I have shitloads of dirt pedz, fuzz in the mail and fuzz in the works... I'm broke but it doesn't matter because fuzz will make it all right in the end. If it's not all right, it's not yet the end time to get more fuzz.

I love metal. The Elements is my favourite pedal. It is just a legendary distortion. But one's enjoyment of the Elements (and indeed all massive metal sounds) is dependent on the riff, and the chank chank palm muting.

Fuzz on the other hand is fun in its own right. I think the harmonic craziness of fuzz is the key - depending on what intervals you play you can get spitty intermodulated dissonance, bubbling, living sounds, then you can play a power chord, a simple fifth, and all that energy gets like focused and condensed. Instead of wild and unpredictable you get massiveness, with everything reinforcing everything else.

Man during the last show, my Elements and Fuck OD blended so well with the sound on stage that it felt like i was almost too quiet.... then i turned on my Fingerprint and all of a sudden BAM VOLUME and they were all approximately on the same level

something with the clipping, man

also Fingerprint is glorious on stage volumes :!!!:
