need a low wattage amp
So recently moved into a new place that sits really close in between to other homes and I fear that they may have a problem with how loud my or120 gets since it seems like a bunch of stuffy old people. The home does have a spacious basement but there is some mold thatneeds to be removed before I feel good moving anything down there so I need a small combo to use that inot about 400 bucks that sounds decent and takes my pedals well.
I found this vintage solid state ampeg combo that sounded great and was only 150 but got dirty really fast might take that if I can't find anything

How about a Peavey Classic 30? Tube combo, reliable, small enough for home use but enough power for small gigs and can be had used for under $400. Here's one on eBay in your price range (not my listing):

I don't need it to be powerful for gigs my or120 isn't going anywhere and this will only be for temp usage. I really didn't I like those peaveys my friend had one and I thought it was meh.

Vox Pathfinder 15. Do the LED mod, and TweedBassman's trem depth mod while you have it open. Cheap, good sounding, controllable level, and lurves the pedals. Buy more pedals with the extra bucks, or another Pathfinder for stereo or wet/dry effects setups.

Oh that sounds pretty good I'm gonna try one next to this amped and see if the tones compare the g110 seems to get dirty quickly so I gotta see what's up especially if the box pathfinder is that cheap it almost makes me leery but I definitely want to try it.

Here's a YT (not mine) comparing the stock and LED mod Pathfinder:

For trying one in person, at very low gain levels the stock amp will give you a fairly accurate hint of what's available post mod. Still some grind there, but not as much and not that distinct fuzziness. And now it more clearly presents the distinct fuzziness in whatever pedal you want to use.

Hmm I was kinda hoping it would stay mostly clean since I just want it to work on pedal configurations and practice scales and other old bs. Led mod gives it more grind correct?

I really like my Egnater Tweaker. The head for a 15w version (I have the 40) is $399. It really does have a ton of tones in it though. I dont know about the 15 but mine can stay clean as loud as I have ever needed it but I dont run completely clean either.

No, less grind and fuzz, lots more headroom and clean volume. The LED mod removes clipping diodes that happen to be LEDs, making them easy to locate for removal. As you can hear in the clip, there's still some bark and grunt available when the gain is up, but low gain and high master is pretty clean. If you want very clean, maybe something in the Jazz Chorus family would be better.

No that is perfectly fine for a sec I thought you were saying to add an led bug now it makes more sense that its removing the diode. I think I might just end up getting this a little grind is not bad as I run my actual amp till its almost at break up

That pathfinder sounded nice and boxy with them removed. Do want.

Re: need a low wattage amp
pathfinder is amazing.
i use mine everyday with pedals. i record with it. ive played unmic'd gigs with it accompanied by a drummer and clean it was loud enough just to make it.
but for at home, it stays clean great and sounds good.
do the led mod and the trem depth mod and youre GOLDEN.

I'd go with an old fender combo, something like a Princeton

Re: need a low wattage amp
Just got a pathfinder bass 10 as my local music shop didn't have the other although it sounds pretty good and seems to be guitar friendly with the bright switch on not only that but they knocked off 15 percent so there was no way I wasn't goin to do it at the pro e of 93 bucks after tax.
Now I'm looking forward to getting the LEDs removed, although I was wondering do I have to use an iron to take it off or can I jus break em remove them off.
