Question about DI boxes

I just got a Behringer G100 Ultra G DI Box with cabinet simulation. I tried using it as a standard active direct box (guitar > pedalboard > G100 > mixer) at practice the other day, and while it was an improvement from what I had, it wasn't quite what I expected... I want to try using the external speaker capability of my pro junior III into the direct box and then come out from the output to cabinet jack on the DI Box to the speaker of my amp. Will that even work? I know I'll definitely need to use the grd lift and most likely both of the pads... would it even benefit me to try this? Is there a chance of me screwing up my amp as well as the mixer? Do I use standard unbalanced cables or TRS? The mixer is for the PA system at my church btw.

DO NOT RUN THE EXTERNAL SPEAKER OUT FROM YOUR AMP INTO THE DI BOX. YOU WILL BREAK BOTH.

so was the behringer a total waste?
I mean what's the point of the 4x12 cabinet sim if it sounds like shit? When I run my guitar with effects into it the cab sim causes a hissing noise.

Unless I'm dumb and the DI is designed to take the low-impedance loud from an amp.

External speaker outs from a tube amp, UNLESS YOU KNOW EXPLICITLY BETTER (read the manual, and read it again several times), will require an attenuator before that DI box.

Most DI boxes are to take some of the ugly out of DI acoustic guitar and as "better than nothing" scenarios. Or adapter purposes when you need a ground lift or XLR out. It's also Behringer, which is to say, "it may work for what you want, but buyer beware" (I say this as the owner of two of their devices that work splendidly for my needs). In this case, I can specifically tell you that the Pro Jr and the other amps in that line require a speaker load on the jack if you don't want to fry the output transformer in short, short order.
