I didn't even try and buy this one! really!
to recap:
I like gibson guitars.
I prefer lighter weight guitars.
I prefer vintage guitars.
I really like pelham blue gibsons.
I really like SG's and Melody Makers.
I really don't like having to spend $4-5k+ to buy a pelham blue gibson sg jr.
But I really want one.. what's a guy to do? I know that's what they go for, but jeez, thats a lot of loot.

There was a cool beat up two pickup pelham blue '65 melody maker on eBay last year for $1200. paint was really chippy, but i liked the vibe. I thought it over, and passed, but then i was kinda bummed and thought about it often.
The pelham ones seem to be rare(r), and really are the only '65 MM's that do it for me.
I figure this was a decent stop gap until i find a screaming deal on a pelham SG jr.
Then again, maybe it will quash that idea entirely.
How'd I do?

I threw a really low tester bid at it (so i thought ) with a few hours to go... and just watched noone bid at it..
Loots like i need a tailpiece and a vintage bridge:
