Anyone on here have one/play with one before?

Sounds weird/ looks weird.

Supposedly they were voiced and intended more for guitar than bass. Some say they're killer, but I don't know. Certainly interesting. The v9 head they went with is supposed to be really cool. I wouldn't go buy it as my main cab for guitar or bass without knowing if I loved it. But if you've got the cash and the space to store it, it'd be cool to see what it was about.

Just read that! V9 was essentially the SVT but for guitar. Insane! 300 watt guitar head.

I want to go try it out for sure. Very interesting!

Would you happen to know the wattage of the speakers? can't quite find that...

i used to have one. It sounded pretty good, but my 70's 8X10 sounded "tighter" i felt like the was less definition in the 9X10, and the tone was kinda mid rangey. it was also bigger and heavier than the 8X10. ultimately i got rid of it, but it was really fun to have it. it's not often that they pop up and i couldn't not try. let me know what your thoughts are if you get it.

Do you remember what you sold it for? How much bigger then the 810?
wattage of speakers?

I have a 90's USA Ampeg 810 already, if the 9x10 is more mid rangy, might be cool to pair them up since I'm running two heads and two cabs. Two different tones!

We seem to keep meeting on my obscure cab threads... haha!

the 910 is wider.
i'm sure the speakers are the same as what you'd see in the 810's.

hello, my weird-cab-friend. we seem to like to tip our toes into the pools that no one else has any faith in. i have to say that it wasn't for me, but it's tone was different enough that if i had been running two heads into two different cabs i might have been way more into it. it was definitely wider. by something like 2 inches. my Traynor YBA-3 didn't overlap the edges on it which was refreshing.
regarding the speakers, i am fairly sure that those are not the same speakers that went in to the 8X10. i'm not 100% positive about that, but they are definitely voiced differently. the wattage is as high as the 70's 8X10 speakers are, but it definitely sounded different.

The 9x10's had big round ports cut into the chambers, which is definitely going to make them sound very different even if they are the same speakers. I don't know if they are the same or not, but it is a cool rare piece for sure.

Damn, wider sounds good, the amp I sold my OR120 for is a wide guy... picking him up tomorrow.

I'm very intrigued about this cab, I think it would sound cool with the two head/two cab set up I have in mind from the sounds of it!

how much do they go for? the guy who has it isn't sure... he was just trying to make some sort of trade for my OR120.

I bought mine for $500 four years ago, and sold it two years ago for $500. I can't imagine that they are going for much more now.

Really? damn, thats awesome. I figured they'd be some crazy inflated "hey this is rare and old" price. That's actually a lot cheaper then most of the used SVT-810's around here.
