Mullard C280 Tropical Fish Caps

Post by Ben79 »

I just bought about 4 thousand of them, all different values, small to big. They test good so far - close tolerance.

They certainly look nice. What do people think of them? Anyone need any?

I bet they would look really cool on a FY-2 tagstrip layout.... You could probably sell a kit with those caps, some transistors, and the tag strip board, you know, if you wanted to.

That's a good idea. Tag board's quite expensive so I've been experimenting with making my own turret boards using small sheets of fibreglass and mini turrets. Could knock out some complete boards for fy2s, fuzzrites, fz1a etc. I've amassed quite a large stock of old germaniums now too so maybe it's time to go into some kind of production.

Sweet, you have some carbon comps to complete the vintage vibe of it all? If so, you have a price in mind for the board, caps, resistors, and transistors for a FY-2 layout? PM me if you don't want to make it public.

To everyone that's messaged me wanting some caps, sorry for the delay. The 4000 were in one massive bundle so I'm sorting through and will get back to you soon.
