ILF CD of the month club

Post by space6oy »

so a chick i'm friends with started one of these towards the end of last year and invited me onboard, thought i'd see if any of you fuzzers wanna do one. i'll take care of organizing it, need 11 other people to round out a year, wanna keep it within USA (sorry rest of the world) so shipping 'em isn't too much. you simply make a mix CD for your assigned month and mail a copy of it to each person in the gang. can do a theme or just be trying to introduce new stuff, whateva ya feelz like.

anybody wanna do dis?

also, just some tips for everyone... have bit my tongue about them in my other CDOTMC, but will throw a forewarning here. the other group's had two TOTALLY PATHETICALLY LAME mixes. the first was ENTIRELY reggae. dumbass should've done what i did with my electronic mix (which was a second disc in addition to my all over the map mix) and ask if anyone didn't want that. i love some old school dub but cannot stand reggae. total waste of a CD. also the guy who did july chose "summertime" as a theme, so every song had that in its title or its subject. good intention, but it was fucking lame. dunno about the other participants but i instantly deleted every song that everyone on the map already knows. having a few tracks be stuff some people already know is totally understandable and acceptable, but don't throw in classics / radio commons that everybody's heard. let's try to have this be us introducing other fuzzers to some stuff that's hopefully new to them. last up (for now), make sure you include a track list. print it out, PM it to everyone, whatever. one jackass in my other group said he wanted everyone to listen to his mix without knowing who the tracks were by until after, damn near all of us jumped right back and said uh-uh, i'm not hitting play & running into shit i already know i hate.

I'm in. I just made myself a Stoner/Desert Rock mix the other day and was thinking that I need to start searching for some new jamz. This sounds like a good way to get exposed to some stuff that isn't on my radar. I like the theme idea, cause I'm all about thematically correct mixes. What format should the songs be in? MP3 or MP4a?

right on guys! yeah the facebook gang i joined, we've just done straight up audio cds. i actually did two for my month, one of which was just a bunch of stuff i love that i doubted the others would be familiar with, the other was actually all techno-stuff that i made a streamless mix of. asked if anyone in the group wasn't into stuff like that just so i wouldn't bother them with it if they weren't. wish others who did a genre/theme mix would've done the same, one guy did nothing but reggae for his mix. i love dub but can't stand reggae...

anyway i'm taking down names, if you're in PM me your mailing address!

Yes I'd like to do this, does it matter if my address will be changing in about two months?

i would join but most of my music collection is "stoner", "doom", metal, jazz of all sorts, zappa, rock, ilf bro's bands... when i make a mix i blend it all together pending how i feel at the time. i used to make mixes all the time. if you guys are cool with that...

i am down to listen to anything anyone wants to burn for me.

it's just sharing music you like. if you're making an all "doom" mix and are worried some people won't be into that though, just ask the group, anyone doesn't wanna check that out can just voluntarily be skipped that month.
