Re: Bass Modulation?
meh. plain chorus is super butt on bass. the Cosmi is sick.
i like the M9 and TimeLine a lot, but the Faye Sing is just BEAST, the Mr. Black Gilamondo is fun, delay out the butts, filter -> delay is so tasty... sample rate reducer? mebbe too hard for space out shits.

It says Line and 6... You'll never get your Ginger Braids to Tentacle enough around my Manhood to convince me otherwise... I don't care who uses 'em...

Re: Bass Modulation?
I really like the Source Audio Orbital Modulator as a cheapish way to get multiple modulation options, tap tempo and expression control. I'm a bit of an SA fanboy, but it's my favorite thing they've done.

Re: Bass Modulation?
I agree with sonidero on whatever it is he is trying to say even if it sounds a little vague.
OP
I am not a huge chorus fan because it is hard for me to find one that is audible with my sound unless dirt is in use. Love phase, flange, trem, vibe act.
personally I love old DODs and EH modulation pedals, and once you go through a few cheapies then you can narrow down what you need and want out a more "pro" setup.

Re: Bass Modulation?
I know Peter hook was a fan of the clone theory on his bass when they started doing the New Order stuff. I don't know if the new ones could get that same sound though.

Yeah Chorus is the HOOK SOUND... There newer Clone Theory would be better than the Small or Neo Clone but there is that Boss CEB-3...

Re: Bass Modulation?
For bass, I always go back to my venerable Boss ME-6B. The modulation effects on it are very, very decent on bass and there's a ton of options for guitar/bass-type filtering so you can go mean and keep the low end, or go all squishy and shit.
Used one since it came out in the early 90s and for bass, it's always made me happy. Guitar it works too, and was a heck of a toy since the synth filters never quite tracked guitar right on the synth. ;0

Re: Bass Modulation?
EQD Sea Machine - the chorus for people who hate chorus
Subdecay Baby Quasar (if you can find one - they're out of production)
Arion Stereo Chorus - yes, cheap plastic housing etc, etc, but you can get some amazing swooshing sounds out of it, and it's bassy as hell.
Arion Stereo Flanger - oddly unlike any other flanger I've played, and typically easy to find cheap
Skullservant Cave Dweller delay - incredibly dark delay. Not modulation per se, but Skully's built them into wah housings before, and if you have him do that with the wah controlling the delay rate, you can do all sorts of crazy modulated pitch-bendy things with it.

I'm more like a mids-ist than a bassist.
