mic preamp repair?

hey guys,

i have a vintech dual 72 and one of the channels stopped working. i was using it, started hearing some crackling sounds over the guitar, and then nothing at all. now when i plug something in i don't even get activity with the meter LEDs. anyone know if i can fix this myself/what the problem might be? i can solder, and i know a little about circuits. i'm going to open it up today and see if anything jumps out at me
