that will probably be very awesome :)

personally i didn¨t find the modulation nor the delay right for me... i had trouble setting them right - either there was not enough blend or too much... the same with the modulation - either hardly noticeable or too strong... only played an MKI tho

It's funny reading a lot of the reviews of the mkI... maybe "funny" isn't the right word. But the same things are always mentioned... and then you read the mkII reviews and people are really happy with all the improvements that were made.

I don't have any experience with any other Malekko pedals except the mini-phaser, but that's pretty cool that they listened to the public and seemed to have fixed some stuff up!

Own and love my 600 Dark for many years.
I had a 616 for awhile, it was pretty decent.
Not a fan of the original 616 Lo-Fi, meh.
Now with my 616 Dark, I am back in love.

Would love to know what exactly they mean by dark. Could anyone compare it to another delay for reference? Although that may be difficult because I couldn't find another delay to compare the brightness of the 616 to.

By dark they mean dark as fuck.

Murky sounding, little clock noise.

People call the Carbon Copy dark.

They don't know what dark is, man.

yep, sounds about right... I found a demo

I have to admit, there is definitely something special about their delays. If I hadn't just dumped a couple grand into my car I migt be ordering this rigt now. I like how it still retains some definition to the notes while still being quite murky. I find many analog delays tend to wash out quickly (the Carbon Copy comes to mind)

I just hit the new 616 Dark.
I already have the MKII Lo-Fi so once the Dark gets here, I'll offer up a comparison (and most likely one or the other in the BST).

What the hell does the 616 run on? 9V? Anyone know if it will work with a OneSpot 5-spot daisy chain?

That's what I run the LO-FI on and I assume the OG 616 would be the same. :idk:

Don't know about the newer versions, but my 616 would refuse to work on a daisy chain. Could be 'cause I daisy-chained it through my Boss TU-2 at the time which has a pretty limited current, but I seem to remember a warning somewhere about it being fussy on power. WOrth looking into if it's a big deal to you.

:idk: Maybe I just suck with stuff...

Edit:
from the Malekko user manual:

9V DC Power Supply Input –Use a 9V 200ma 2.1 negative tip regulated adapter (not included).
NOTE:
Non regulated power supplies could kill your new pedal

I think the problem I was having is that I was using the lower output boss adapter which was supplying max 200mA for the tuner and the pedals that were daisy chained, causing the 616 to not get enough power and making it not work. So the answer most likely is

I just suck at stuff
