Ryan wrote:Have you guys checked out The Last Of Us yet?? Holy geez it's an emotional and gripping game! I've seen about the first 2 hours so far, it's very well done and you guys should check it out for sure.

That whole XBOne debacle is nuts hey... what a riot it started in the gaming press world, so many videos of people blown away by MicroSoft's decisions there. I agree, the XBOne is no gamer's console, not at all. I think that move could be something that signals the end for consoles and the win for the PC gaming master race, they just make it such a no-brainer.

I am definitely planning to pick up The Last Of Us. Looks all sorts of awesome.

My brother in law is very pro Xbox even with the DRM thing. He explained a concept that kind of got glossed over on the xbox, which may make me actually consider picking one up. The 'family sharing' option allows me to link my console at my house to his console's cloud - it enables me to play any games that he owns as long as he is not currently playing them. That could be a very cool feature for a person like me - I don't rush out and buy new games on release day and beat them in a week. He does. Which means that if that feature works as intended, I wouldn't really have to buy games any more.

Having said that I still think the used games thing is garbage (even though the used game practices at Gamestop are also garbage). AND, you guys are completely right. The PS4 is a gamers console and doesn't want to be anything other than a good gaming console. I'm not quite sure what Xbox One is yet

Ryan, this is actually an interesting (and fun) read regarding Microsoft's decisions for the Xbox One. It's from a head engineer behind the One and discusses where Microsoft wanted to go and what they wanted to achieve by demanding an online connection and adding DRM to games. I was all in favour of boycotting Microsoft, but they've pulled some punches here and stood up against the PS4 appraisal. It's worth checking out.

Pretty interesting that Microsoft totally retracted all that DRM and 24 hour online crap hey! I didn't see that coming... you could tell on the internet that the reaction to their original plan was hugely negative but it must have been overwhelmingly negative as flip to just completely change their minds on all those plans.

I found a really cool new game I think some of you guys would get a big kick out of.. it's called UnEpic.. it's a roguelike platformer RPG with a really funny premise and tons of nerd-culture references, it's awesome.

Whatcha guys playing lately? Anybody seen the ending of The Last Of Us yet? Anybody playing Rogue Legacy? (another roguelike platformer RPG, geez I have a style hey)

I'm too scared to play Last Of Us so I'm watching a playthrough right now. It's a stunning game. I really wish I wasn't a pussy.

And although I disliked the way Microsoft unveiled their new console, I felt they were on to something. The audience just wasn't ready for it yet. I really do hope they bring some of it back, but maybe with the choice of turning it off so that they cater for everyone. There was an article I read from one of the leading engineers behind the Xbox One. It made a lot of sense when spoken in plain English and from an actual gamer and developer, not some marketing crony. Microsoft wanted to create a world without discs; they wanted to bring Steam to the console. They just did it in a brutish manner. Their response of, "Well, if you can't gain access to the Internet as us rich Western people can, just keep playing the 360", was downright cruel and in bad taste. If they had kept with their original plans and implemented it in a more accommodating and understanding manner, I think the backlash wouldn't have been so...violent. They delivered the glorious idea in the wrong manner, in other words.

I have yet to watch all of the Dead Space games. I've seen the animated movie, and that gave me nightmares. It wasn't scary. It was just disturbing. I find some of the players of Dead Space (though I've only tried watching 3) to kinda suck. They miss so much shit. I hate watching a playthrough where they just fly through everything and miss all the collectables. I'm shouting at the screen like, "No, turn around you muppet! There is a health pack RIGHT THERE! You've walked right over it."

If I had 98% health and I was full up of med packs, I would use one to pick one up another one. People HATE watching me play because of it. I have to check every corner and take every alleyway. No stone is unturned. Good are the good old days of Max Payne where you can carry two dozen automatic guns and a shit-ton of ammunition.

It took me about half an hour to realise I was over-encumbered and was slow as a result of it. Fallout wasn't a game I could stick with. I miss it though.

I'm really looking forward to what they do next with Fallout, and it's about time we heard something on whether they've been developing anything.

I'm a packrat on games too. Like I NEED a full set of every (good) armor in the game. I always spend perks on being able to carry more inventory and making equipped armor weigh less

I haven't played games in a while - still at the first mission of Dishonored, but should have some time to play soon.
