abbey road seems obvious.
rubber soul? revolver?
honestly i have like a passing interest in the stones catalog. i dont mean i just listen to the fm radio hits, i mean i just havent heard nearly as many of their records as i have the beatles. so that part, im really curious about.
Yeah, for the Beatles I'd say its Revolver and then Abbey Road. I actually don't know which one is next after that. Honestly, I think Pepper mostly sucks other than A Day in the Life. If the entire music industry weren't morons in the 60s and they had they had been able to put Strawberry Fields Forever and Penny Lane on Pepper and kicked off a couple of the bullshit filler songs, Pepper could have been a shitload better. Also, White Album has a fuckload of filler too. They could have trimmed that fucker down to one killer LP.
As for the Stones, I'll admit I don't know their catalog anywhere near as well as the Beatles, and my knowledge is mostly limited to the late 60s and early 70s. But Beggars Banquet , Let it Bleed and Sticky Fingers are all better than Exile IMVHO.

Mostly because of its depth, and in no small part due to the product, Exile has a whole lot more replay value. The Stones have a frustrating tendency for two or three standouts per record. Exile has seven or eight... amidst twenty-something songs.

I like Pole better than Beatles or Stones but the OP should read Poll cause that's what this thread is... The answer is Rubber Revolver...

randomly saw crossfire hurricane documentary on hbo the other afternoon. pretty good watch. they showed keith right around the time he got busted for smack in canada and decided to kick finally. i was like, shit man he looks like hes 40 he was 32. i thought smack was supposed to preserve your youth. now ive got this horrible smack habit for no reason.
