TS circuits are great for stacking. Seriously. They tighten stuff up a bit and the mid boost does nice growly stuff to the following dirt or fuzz. On it's own into a clean amp TS = poo. Before an OD or fuzz = ILF-enabled. But Ibanez already makes a decent TS - there is no need for 200 others (as has been pointed out).
I am super sick of makers coming out with circuits that add a three way clipping switch (LED, none, Si or Ge) and an input cap blend and calling it something groundbreaking. No, no it's not. You didn't invent a rad new pedal, you just did some mods that dudes have been doing since the newsgroup days of the internet.

Bingo.
The bottom-end rolloff is a double-edged sword...no doubt about it.
Can be used to tame muddiness...and really help cut through a cluttered mix.
That in the context of cranking a TS' Overdrive knob into a clean amp at home is why most people hate TS.
Using it to boost a dimed amp or scooped-fuzz, in a studio or live setting is when those same people go "oh, ok I get it now."
That's how it was with me, anyway...but this experience is far from unique.

I prefer treble boosters for this application. Why compress the signal if you can boost (and tighten) it and let the fuzz do the squashing

Treble boosters are rad too
I have just had some great results with stacking a TS into stuff, and I think it gets an unwarranted amount of shit - it's a cheap, readily available circuit that's good at certain things. On the other hand I would never have picked it (or at least the Son of Screamer) in a million years as pretty much launching the "boutique" pedal industry.

Having both Treble Boosters, and Tube Screamers, I'll bite.
For me, there's "something" about the tonal modification that a Tube Screamer does that I find magical. I use one, set clean, either into a distortion box (right now at home, it's a Skreddy Zero), or into an amp that causes more of what I would call "saturation". It's very musically pleasing to my ear. It's an effect that no single distortion or fuzz box can do on its own. I would describe it as that part of the distortion of the 80's hair metal sound that you can't really get out of most distortion boxes or amps alone. I don't know that I'd say that there's more distortion, per se. It's as if the Tube Screamer enables distortion across more of the tone spectrum. Beyond that, there's not much in the way of using words that would allow me to better describe that sound. When I heard it for the first time, it was a eureka moment. "OMG! That's how they did it! God that sounds awesome!"
A Treble Booster can do *almost* the same thing, but I would describe it, as though the increased signal increases the "thumpiness" of the distortion tone. (Which is not the immediate expectation given the name "Treble Booster").
I had an original Ibanez TS-9 in 1987 that I bought used. I thought it was a nice low-gain OD, I heard hints of "that sound" but in the context of it being a low-gain OD, I never made the connection. Not knowing how to use it the way I wanted, I resold it.
Now that I have another Tube Screamer (actually, a Maxon OD-9) and know how I want to use it, I would never get rid of it, just as I would never get rid of my Treble Boosters. They sonically enable different things.
