I don't want to derail this thread too much but the most interesting hotrod FF circuits at the moment seem to be the EQD Dirt Transmitter, Ghost Mind Rocker, Skreddy BC109 and SS/BS Hawk or TAFM as far as I can tell.
To bring it back on topic, the Buzzaround apparently was (one of) the first fuzz pedal(s) to have an external bias control and that texture tone control is great too, really cool!

It's pretty cool, though not completely FF I'd say, the one thing I couldn't get out of it is this higain blown out type of leadsound, it seems to be too tight for that, that's why I'm looking around some more, in my opinion it did however kick quite a few FF style pedals ass when I tried all of them at the shop.
The Fat Fuzz Factory could be cool as well, have that one incoming too, quite curious about it.

Yeah Robert Fripp used Buzzarounds for leads a lot. FWIW the Robert is also a King Crimson reference cause after I made the first one i thought it sounded kinda like a buzzaround out of random coincidence.

Oh and i have the older Arc Buzzaround clone with no power jack. Thing does sound awesome. I do think it can get into muffish territory, actually, but its not really related to the circuit.

Your robert fuzz, is it in the buzzaround vein?
Its a two knob job right?

It's actually not a related circuit at all. Just a tonal similarity. It's not a germanium pedal but a hybrid of silicon and mosfet with very strong soft clipping which allows it to sound more overdrivey with the gain down. But on the neck pickup, especially, you get a nice Robert fripp violin lead type sound. I have a ge buzzaround from Aaron too, and it's rather different but can get in similar territory.

I already have a FuzzHugger(fx) AB-Synth 5k which is a lot better than a Fuzz Factory and have some Fuzz Face quality to it according to my ears.

Yeah. Fripp used to roll his neck tone control almost all the way off on an all mahogany les paul with humbuckers before going into the buzzaround. That's why his leads were so smooth with that particular pedal.
