No info really, but I found a green one of those in Austin several years ago. High dollar stuff.
I make noise toys under Stomping Stones

Re: "rare" orange matamp amp.
In case it gets lost in the Doom Room Shuffle:
Awrite!
So, that's a 1224MkI, which is the earlier version of the 1224MkII that they make now. As far as the 1224MkII stuff is concerned, here's the basic from the factory stuff:
http://www.matamp.co.uk/amplification/1224.htm
And here's the manual:
http://www.matamp.co.uk/pdfs/1224mk2.pdf
Now, the only thing "Orange" about this Matamp is the tolex. Brief history lesson: Orange was a studio before it was an amplifier company, and Orange contracted Matamp to build them the original Orange amplifiers. That ended in the very early 70's, and was officially done by the time Orange debuted their Voice of The World line. So an OrMat is going to be late 60's to '71 (I think, don't take that as gospel.). This has orange-no capitals-vinyl.
As far as the differences between the MarkI and the Mark II, I have no idea. You know who will? THE MATAMP FACTORY!
Ring them up( 01484 859500) and ask. Also try to get in a visit to the factory.

Re: "rare" orange matamp amp.
It will almost definitely rock. Matamps are awesome.
As far as the rarity goes, I'd ask the factory--but I will say I've never come across/heard of the MarkI, and I spend an awful lot of time plotting out ways to spend money I don't have on Matamps.

Re: "rare" orange matamp amp.
Hahaha, yes, one of the recommendations i got from the doom room was "sell a testy. buy both".... I was more thinking half a liver... livers grow back if you have half... anyone got a liver problem i can help with? going cheap, only £3000....
In other news, i tried a rockerverb 100 at practice today... fuuuuck me... if the matamp is even slightly like that, i need to find a way to get it...
