That's a good description of myself. I always feel like Big Muff sound like distortion... not my type.
That is a really good description, ESP in the higher gain range. Plenty thick and fuzzy but the clarity and fast attack and available presence set the buzzaround apart.
I'm hesitating between this, a Fuzz Face or a Tone Bender MkII (Maritimes Analog Firing Line MkII) for my next pedal. I'm looking for the guitar sound on the first chord of Walk with Me from Neil Young.

So there is no master volume, huh? That would be a problem for me. I love Germanium fuzzes like the Fuzz Face, but for live stuff, if you can't go higher than unity gain, yer fucked. I've had that trouble with a few germ fuzzes, and it's too bad. The sound and description of the Buzzaround would be just right for me, but if it can't get loud, I can't use it. Maybe a boost in a loop would work, but I'd rather have the damn thing just be loud.

Would love to try one of these, though.

What? No Master Volume: yes. No Volume: no! That Thing can kill your amp! Volume like a mofo.
This is a pretty cool fuzz, based on the first video. It's just a slight thickener, almost sounds like a phaser with little motion. And a hint of hair. Sick! Good for anything that needs definition. Also, not liking prog is one thing. But not liking Red? What now? Hello birth of heavy metal!

confirmed, played show with this pedal last week and it destroys. you can adjust the output level by tweaking the balance and timbre controls. mega volume is no problem here.

This.
No "volume control" per se but the volume is plenty adjustable and there's lots of it.
I'm with you on that one and so far I'm not a big fan of Big Muff fuzzes either, both sound too much like a compressed distortion to me. This sounds as if it would be well suited for Indie Pop/Rock stuff or something (especially that big whirring chord sound like kbithecrowing said), it's a great sound but not something I'd use. I guess I'm more of a Fuzz Face / Bender guy as well.
