Wiring diagram for LED but with no switch.
I want to make a Klon buffer, and was wondering if anybody had a wiring diagram that shows how to wire the offboard wiring without a switch, but still a DC jack for an led indicator. Thanks guys!

You mean like this?

This assumes that you're using a metal enclosure and non-isolated jacks, otherwise just connect the input sleeve and the output sleeve to make sure both are grounded.

That's it, thanks! also, do you usually connect the two jack sleeves just in case? Sometimes there's a bit of paint on the enclosure preventing connection

Personally I'd remove the paint and make sure everything is grounding to the enclosure, but connecting them together is totally fine. Good luck with it!

I do this. ever since RG said you only want one path to ground I started doing this. sandpaper the inside till you get the metal. and clean the box good so you don't have metal flake in your pots.

why do you only want one path to the ground? (I have the out and in jacks connected) is that bad?

No its not bad. Just talking about small improvements i learned from a guy that wrote the book on good grounding and low noise. Although it relies on the resistance, capacitance, and inductance of the box + jack being better than a good wire. I have not noticed a difference yet between these methods. It does look cleaner so i have that.
