Why does it seem like every new article/bit of press about the band is using photos from 20+ years ago?

Anyway...even if they were playing on the east coast I would not be attending.

Being sonically assaulted doesn't interest me.
Some shows are just punishing to experience, even though I have a strong affinity for the music...

No, I'm not too old. That shit has gotten way too loud. It was already obscene in the Loveless era.
If it were just a couple of full stack plexis I could deal with it. But look at this:

That's only Kevin's rig  and you can clearly see the XLR cables dangling.
Dont they go through like 100,000W of PA on top of that? Ridiculous, either way.

That shit'll give me heart palpitations. :erm:

If they layed off the "mbv" material, I'd be fine. Also, Verizon Theater is like 10 minutes from my house, so why not?

I saw Pixies on their "Doolittle Cashgrab" tour there. Boring as fuck.

It wasn't quiet when I saw them a few years back, but it wasn't painful. Even the "holocaust" section of You Made Me Realise, while it was tuning through the resonant frequencies of most parts of my body, wasn't excruciating. I did use the earplugs they supplied, but it didn't seem like it would be debilitating without.

I saw them when they reunite a few years ago, when again 2 weeks ago in porto's primavera sound. The on when they reunited was great, they were doing the noise set, and was lound as fuck, but with earplugs it's not something painful.
The one I saw 2 weeks ago, was kind of shit. The sound isn't has lound, witch is good I guess, but the guitar sound is crap. I don't know if it was the PA, or if I was to far from the stage or something like that, but the guitar sound was crap, just a mush of mids going into to a helicopter tremolo for the half of the show. You couldn't listen to belinda either, and not like in the albuns or the other concert I saw of them, where it's just a quiet background vocal, for most of the sow it seamed like the mic was turned off.

I'm a big mbv fanboy, and will see them time and time again if I had the chance, but that last show sucked. In the middle of the show I said fuck it and went to see titus andronicus that were playing at the same time. They kind of had a crap vocal sound to, but its punk rock, so it's not like they have to have a nice sound to put a good show. After that I saw Fucked Up, that was the festivals second best show. The best one was Swans. That was probably the best show I ever saw, kevin could learn a few things about live sound from michael gira.
