WANTED: Schematics for Teisco K2L

Post by Josh Pelican »

Plain and simple.

My friend Colleen is filling in on guitar when the band goes on tour. She's got a 1967 K2L and with some loose wiring. She's been looking for a diagram for a while, but she's had no luck. I found a few diagrams for other models, but none of them match up. If I recall correctly, it's the same as the Del Ray ET-230 Deluxe and was later changed to the Reveler when Kawai took over.

I figured I'd ask some of you dweebs here. She said she could fix it no problem, but there are so many switches and whatnot so she needs the schematics.

Thanks, dudes!

I don't have anything for you, but if you take it to a good guitar tech, they should be able to figure out what's going on.

Even amongst the same model designation, those Teiscos weren't always wired consistently from guitar to guitar.

I found a diagram for the ET-200 and I'm tempted to compare it to her guitar. I really don't know much about the Teisco guitars aside from I'd love to own one or two.

I'll talk to her tonight if she's at the jam and we'll figure something out.

I owe you one Tim Horton's for responding.

Awesome. Let me know when you get back from tour so I can book my tickets to come up and hang out with you and Greenfuz.

Good luck with the wiring.

Just a thought man, but screw the schematic. I'd rip it all out, put some better pots and caps in and wire it to do what she wants it to do. There's really not a lot going on inside a guitar that is all that complex. with all the switches on there, if she likes certain things to be a certain way you could always hardwire that and add a cutoff switch instead or whatever else it doesn't do.

reason i ripped the et-200 apart
was all the electronics went to shit
first jack,then tone ,then vol
those wires are so thin
like two whispy hairs of metal in rubber
i cant imagine the pots are good quality
rip it all out and start over
especially if its gonna be used in front of people
can we see pictures of this badboy
