Re: help me/should i mod this ric copy
couple reasons
the neck is a bit whacked out
ive gotten it to about as flat as its gonna be
and above the headstock joint
isnt on plane with the rest of the neck
maybe too long without tension
i suck at bass so i dont mind some buzz
but im not sure its worth it to try and sell it
unless someone wanted it as a project
but in that case
i want it as a project
also its actually a fake ric
not just a ric style whatever
the truss rod cover says rickenbacker(sp?)
i guess i just feel kinda weird about it
so with all those things
how much could i ask for it?
FS:Fake Yellow Chinese Ric w/ warped neck mod *RARE*
what do you think its worth bleach?
my boy payed $400 i think
tradetang sells this model for somwheres between 350-550

Where does one get a fake Ric?
Her: "Why do you need to build 'some more' amps?"
Me: "Because that will make me happy. That's important for you, right? For me to be happy?"

Re: help me/should i mod this ric copy
holy shit.
Tradetang makes absolutely no bones about copying, do they? I expected a "clone"; I didn't expect a counterfeit. It has everything including the Ric headstock hardware emblem!
I could use such a product in good conscience if it were patently clear that it was a Ric copy and not a counterfeit Ric. A clearly fake Lemmy-on-a-budget works for me. An absolute counterfeit, I have reservations about. Buy and then modify? I'll have to ponder it.
But from what you say earlier in this thread, Tradetang can't quite make a bass that actually works...

Re: help me/should i mod this ric copy
yeah im not sure how the neck got like that
factory botched or original buyer
if not for the big bend
itd be a good cheap bass
theres no markings anywhere else
no serial numbers nothin
just the truss rod cover
i think they focused on a good straight on shot
low resolution for sure
cause if you squint your eyes...
yeah counterfeit is why i dont feel right
puttin it up for sale
previous owner gave me an allparts bridge
actuallylooks like a ric bridge
but makes it more shady,no
