I don't know much about the camera work, but I think it was a nice use of after effects. Maybe a bit much blur some places, although I think it was intentional.
You're a great actor, some funny little quirks that seem believable and really help fill out the character and that's a great bonus in a short film. And your girlfriend was amazing, she did the support role so well. Her glances and mood changes left the movie with a more open-ended feeling, I think.
On the soundtrack, personally I'm not that big of a fan of drones like that for tension building, so I was biased. Still, I thought it worked well, and the shift to diegetic in the guitar scene was a good move, it really helped shape the mental state of Ross. Anyone who plays guitar recognises what it feels like to noodle with those chords when you're anxious about something. And for someone who doesn't play guitar, it's melancholy enough in the right way to grasp.
And my favourite is the ending, with the Eno-ish melody, that was beautiful.
Why'd Sophia have to take off her shirt to choke poor Ross?
Wow I'm insanely flattered!
My gf is a great actor. I'm always surprised when I see her work. She's actually a model/actress by trade.
I'm with you as far as not really being into droned stuff, but the director was really into that moody stuff so I gave it my best shit. I'm glad you liked the last song! I had to most fun on hat and I really like it.
I have no idea why she had to take her shirt off, but us anyone complaining? Haha
