The high price is actually pretty normal for the market. Nothing that ugly should cost that much though, not unless it has Chris Novoselic's scalp chunks on it.
I had one of these and the neck was misaligned to the point where the G string would roll off the edge of the fret at higher notes, not to mention the intonation being pretty screwed.
Shims and a new bridge, that thing looks cool. i'd put time into making it right and rock it.
