Ibanez Echo Shifter
Saw the bass demo posted elsewhere and checked a few guitar videos
but I wanted to see if anyone had anymore thoughts on this guy....
More than likely, I would use this guy as a table top device
for use with drum machines and/ or synths.

Yeah they seem cool for the price... If you get one and don't like it I'm sure it won't be hard to flip in bst... It seems that they had table top use in mind so I bet it's great with Drum Machines and Synths...

I had One. Hated it because it forgets your taped Delay time once you go into bypass. Sent it back the next Day.
If you use it as table Top it may work Perfect for you. The Sound is nice on the darker side with a very Good Modulation.

Oh crap, I had such high hopes for this one and... it would have looked so good with the Ibanez Standard Fuzz too

I don't understand why they would do something like this...I feel like it takes more effort to make it not work after you tap than letting it remain...but I know little.

yeah, exactly, probably somebody in their engineering dept comes up eventually saying "because of the lulz" or some shit like that

From what I've seen on other forums, it's the Tap issue that seems to be people's
biggest buzz-kill with this.
While it's not really a huge issue with me, it does make me wonder
if anyone is building a delay with tempo feature that could be potentially
clocked/ triggered from an external source (like the trigger out on an analog drum machine).
Oh, and doesn't cost $50,000.00

I'm the one who did the bass demo, and I've been using it alot at home in my guitar rig lately.
Yes the tap can be annoying, but having it there is better then not. How many delay pedals are out there that don't have tap at all so your kinda stuck with whats dialed in. This is just like that but the ability to fix the delay time once its on if theres an issue, and it only needs two clicks not 3 or 4 like other tap delays i've had. Maybe I'm just not that picky about lil details.
For table top usage this unit is amazing IMO. the absurdly crazy modulation that gets pitch bendy, and the oscillation switch lead to controllable chaos that I find musical and fun. I've run a microkorg through it before and it sounds really good with synths IMO. It's definitely not a pedal for everyone but I really like it for a dark modulated delay on the relative cheapz.

Yea...that's what I'm talking about.
I've been carting around an AD202 for years. It's great. It's huge and mounted in a road case and strikes fear into
the hearts of airline passengers everywhere.
I think it might be nice to have something a little more...dainty.
But, it seems like the size of the pedal and the knobs and slider are conducive to messing around
with on the fly. More so than your average stomp box?
I think I'm sold...

Most definitely, the slider is really fun for on the fly usage and the oscillation switch makes for quick oscillo swells and the big footswitches are easy to click with your fingers. As far as the overall size its alot smaller then you would think by the pictures, it was dwarfed by my verellen big spider.
