Need a volume pedal specifically for ambient. Suggestions?

All the volume comes on at the very end of the throw. Never use it because of that.

That's Audio Taper... Linear Taper is better for loud playin and pedals me think...

i have a regular EB volume pedal and a stereo volume/pan pedal i use to switch between loopers. each is sturdy enough that i think i could use them as wheel chocks.

can you explain the difference
between linear and audio taper

Audio pots work on a curve and are supposed to function close to how our ears actually hear. )

I would believe it is possible to switch the pots in the pedal as long as you could find a replacement that has that spindle on it for the string. Or based upon looking at the picture you could get a long shaft pot and if that spindle can unscrew, then you could just put it on the new long shaft pot.

I remember reading an article about some guy examining the pots used in ernie balls because the real old ones had a different curve then newer ones and thus didn't react the same. So he was on a quest to try and replicate it.

I read somewhere that the ernie ball has a real good sweep but it sucks tone like a MF. Maybe I should try it and see if it's true...

The trade-off with volume pedals is "Good Sweep vs. Doesn't Suck Tone"

VP JR 250K (FOR PASSIVE ELECTRONICS)
The potentiometer has a 250k ohm resistance suitable for the audio path of passive instruments. Behind the jack area under the footplate is a micro taper switch which provides the user two distinct volume swell rates. Overall Volume Pedal Junior dimensions: 3.5" W x 10" L x2 3/8" H . The main pivot shaft is of centerless ground 1/2' diameter stainless steel, precision seated though nylon bushings at both ends. Tough long lasting Kevlar cable transmits pedal travel to the controls and is attached by stainless steel springs.

it's a little two-position switch similar to those seen in some larger devices' internal applications.
