i was messin around at my local guitar center because i needed to kill some time (and i like playing really loud and fuzzy to drown out all the wannabe shredders) and i played this setup - tele -> big muff -> mxr bass octave -> hot rod deluxe.
it was fucking awesome.

kind of makes me wonder what a Big Muff and a MXR Blue Box would sound like.

so would a MXR Bass Octave be a panacea for Fuzzes & Overdrives? you know, like better than using an EQ or a Dark Boost? it seems like a great idea.

I'd say so. If I feel some pedal is lacking in bass, I kick the mxr and have instant ass-jiggling lows. I haven't found a pedal yet that's immune to its effect. So yeah, try one out I think they can be found pretty cheap used. I use the previous version which doesn't track as well or have as many tonal options as the new one but the bad tracking and lack of tonal options is what I like about it.
