New pedal board advice

Hey Folks!

Like the title says, I'm looking into getting a 2nd pedal board. I currently have a 10-year old Pedal Pad w/regulated power supply. It works great, but seems to be designed around the larger-sized pedal boxes from back then (Fulltone, Line 6, etc...). The layout just doesn't seem that efficient for smaller sized pedals like my EQD stuff. I'm primarily a drummer, but dusted off the guitars this past year and went on a pedal binge so having a 2nd board may just come in handy

I'm thinking of going with a mid-sized Pedaltrain with a Voodoo-Labs power supply. I'm not well-versed enough in the latest boards, so if anyone has already been down this road, please chime in. There's likely some alternatives I haven't considered.

Other than a DL-4 (which would likely stay on the other board) I don't have any digital pedals that draw a lot of juice, just a Dispatch Master and a Sea Machine. I can't remember if my Whetstone runs on 9-12V or 9-18V, but it seems to work just fine with running on 9 volts.

I think CIOKS is top dog in terms of power supplies but only if you need the extra current and versatility that it has over the Voodoo Labs stuff. Otherwise, a PP2+ is probably the best option for the money.

As for boards, I've never owned a pedaltrain but they def look nice and seem to be the most popular option out there. Also, they're compatible with both VL and CIOKS stuff. I think I'd go with a custom Blackbird board if I were in the market again though. They make some nice stuff.

Pedal train makes great boards that pretty much everybody likes. If going the diy (read "cheap") route appeals to you, you can pick up a gorm shelf from ikea and pimp it out/paint it however you want.

The board doesn't matter so much IMO. I love my pedaltrain, but DIY boards are just fine and a lot cheaper.
Whetstones are 9v. Mine runs fine off of a standard power out on a BBE SupaCharger.
If I had to do it again, I'd get a CIOK or Voodoo Lab power supply, though...

Pedaltrain makes decent stuff, the bags aren't dirt cheap horrible either.

I got a PT2 used pretty cheap from a guy who just used it at home. It fits a metric ton of 1590-sized pedals and a few large ones. I could have fit on more but that was enough and all stuff I regularly use.

Thanks for confirming my research, guys! I took advantage of some Mom's Day sales and ordered up a Voodoo Labs 2+ and a Pedaltrain PT-2. The PT-2 should be plenty large for my needs. Will be nice to play around with the sag feature on the Voodoo Labs PS should I decide to not go with batteries on my fuzzes.

I know my boards won't contain anything that you guys haven't already used, but I'll try to repay your courtesy by taking some pics once I get some stuff set up.

My old board had some of the following: Teese Wizard Wah, DL-4, Experience Fuzz, Soul Bender, Choralflange, Octafuzz, MicroVibe ....

The new board will have some EQD, Whetstone, Randy's Revenge, Hartman Flanger.....Joining ILF has not helped with my GAS problem

Yah, I know! I hadn't bought any pedals in 10 years, then my buddy hips me to EQD gear and the Pharaoh Fuzz, and here I find myself 10 new pedals later.......

I've never bothered to put velcro on any of my pedals but will likely do so with the new board. The stuff that came with the PT-2 should be adequate, unless you guys think there' s a better product to use? I won't be schlepping the board everywhere, just trying to keep house guests and the cats from knocking shit over. I've also never tried to take velcro off of a pedal should I need to sell it and the buyer is "particular" about his gear (not that I ever really sell much of anything Does this stuff actually come off without FUBAR-ing the finish on the pedal?
