Another Reverb topic

Post by Dramatis Persona »

Hi there, I recently bought the Cathedral and Hazarai, actually I have a huge range of ambience reverb combinations :!!!:
But I need a cheap and 100% wet with long decay reverb to put before overdrive\distortion\fuzz\octaves etc, or viceversa put the cathedral before everything and place a second reverb at the end of the chain. Any suggestions?
My choices are: Muza FD900 Ambience (but I'm afraid of it will be a chinese shit);
Holy grail or Holy Grail Plus (few knobs, few options etc.)
Tech 21 Boost Reverb (not cheap)
Hardwire Supernatural (the coolest, but I should wait 20 days for the delivery without tracking and pay doganal taxes because I live in Europe)

Line 6 Verbzilla / the Berhinger clone of it is another good option.
Especially for pre-dirt so it won't clip.
That guys has looooong ass trails, too.

IF You live in Europe as I do, and the VAT and customs eat at Your fridge, You might want to check out Zcat pedals. :poke:
http://www.zcatpedals.com/

Also, check the Crush The Button second hand pedals every now and then. :thumb:

Tech21 sounds good to my ear for basic reverb sounds, but so does EHX, too. Hardwire is something completely different though, but from the pedals You mentioned I'd say that is what You should be looking for.

...myself? I use Boss Re-20 Space Echo pedal in middle of the chain and MrBlack Eterna in the end.

The Muza kicks ass, although the jacks on mine were constantly loose.

It's crazy how many threads on reverb there are.
Would love to try the spring theory though

Yup, the muza's super duper cool, but they seem to have a bit of variance when it comes to quality control: background hiss is probably the biggest issue for most people. The one I have, however, is perfect: no background hiss, solid construction and great sounds. So, to an extent, you buy it at your own risk, but it's crazy good.

Maybe muza reverse reverb and reverse delay into cathedral reverse reverb and hazarai reverse delay?
ZCAT pedals seems cool, expecially this: http://www.zcatpedals.com/?dir=view&id=triverb, but no demoes
If I buy the supernatural i think I will pay something about 300 $
Subdecay Spring Theory, too few controls...
I prefer a super digital stompbox like cathedral...
Tech 21 has level, feedback and modulation knob (and tone) seems cool, but no demo :/

Cathedral first.
The hardwire reverb is pretty cheap and not half bad.
I think a fair amount of people on here have a muza and like it.

it's my fault, a shitty and hasty translation. I mean custom taxes. There are about the 33% of the price plus expedition and the VAT (21%) I will pay the supernatural reverb like the eventide space... Sometimes It's possible to avoid the duties, but if there is a shithead employee at the custom house I should pay a penality, and I will pay the supernatural like a rack unit. :grumpy:
It's funny to write in english when I'm drunk.

I think I'll go with Muza FD900 or the Source Audio Dimension Reverb (very cool modulation tweaking :!!!: )

I have a Line 6 M5 and the verbs are great, I keep it just for them. I think that the verbzilla would be a good choice.

the source audio reverb is incredible, longest ive held on to any pedal
love love love it, pre or post dirt

RE m5 reverbs: i don't like them. maybe because my standards were set high by the source audio? i don't know why, they were just too 'plastic' for me
