This is my favorite tuning... except on bass I have to tune it LVFZ...

Every time I tune to V my string breaks.

Clearly, you need to get the proper gauge strings. I find that downtuning a 22 gauge down to 44 and then crossing over to 67 gives you the best tone per inch of intonation torque. Combine that with the square root of your E string divided by your A string, and you will have a perfect V!

Of course, most amps can't handle that kind of load, so you'll need to buy a Love Buzz and crosswire its flux capacitors... but that's an easy mod...

Maybe for you Doc. What about the rest of us? I also think there should be a garbage-energy converter built into it because other wise its kind of hard to come across 1.21 gigawatts to power it!!!!

We're working on a steam powered version, so you can use just about anything for fuel.

Which will, of course, be a natural fit for those of us who use steam powered synthesizers:

Robert Fripp's New Standard Tuning:

"The tuning is (from low to high): CGDAEG, and can be remembered by the mnemonic "California Guitarists Drop Acid Every Gig", according to the program booklet sold at the UK end of the Double Trio tour."

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Standard_Tuning

This is the tuning Fripp himself uses.

Also used in the "Guitar Craft" program that Fripp founded in the 80's.

Not that off from standard tunning, really. Except...bacwards-ish. Still tuned in fifths, except the last string which is a (minor) third.
