Bought the live Flood they were selling and I was .... surprised? by the overt amounts of italian-progness and general loose 60s guitaring. Lacked the almost minimalist appeal of Flood Flood.
Wait, wut. They didn't have a merch table at the show in DC...

They were selling like New Album on vinyl and otherwise / (purple) Heavy Rocks / Attention Please / whatever the latest Merzbow and Michio Kurihara splits are / + 4 shirts (no Praparat which was odd). But the real interesting stuff was limited quantities of a japanese 2cd Vein and this "Boris performing Flood" (With Michio Kurihara).
I had just emerged from being stroked to orgasm with Flood's wonderous waves so I bought the live one in hopes of replicating the experience in the future.
IMAGINE MY SURPRISE when the CD bore little to no resemblence with what I just processed. I would never use the word pastoral to describe a section on a Boris album... but that's as close a descriptor as i can get. The vocals (almost operatic male/male harmony) have more in common with vintage italian prog than anything I can think of. And the careful repititions of normal Flood seemed to be a vehicle for a nigh-constant guitar solo. What is/was very focused and hypnotic (COUGH THE DRONE ENDING) became very.... PSYCHEDELIC ROCK MAAN. *shrugs*
It's pretty interesting in that respect, I suppose.

well, the live flood cd also has Micho Kurihara on it so that would explain the soloing. we listened to it on the way home from the first show and again in the car driving around the city the next day. its pretty good and all but it is nowhere near as good as the show they put on the second night!
serious bummer about the lack of a merch table Achtane.
If you want a good Live recording of flood that is not a bootleg you have to record your self find a copy of the Heavy Metal me DVD it has a early Flood performance and a feedbacker performance plus it is cool art film.

nah, just putting off working on a song for some union thing... really I don't want to work on it anyway... [it's soooo cheese...] but I said I'd help with producing and play on it.. I hope it is the flood night but [and I am not going to see if I can find out ] I will be happy no matter what! I really didn't want to miss them two tours in a row.
