Just arrived yesterday, my modest entry into the world of modular synthesizers.

Here it is with my Ensoniq ESQ-1, which I use to control it!

Ensoniq has hands-down the best keys I've ever played. I wish they had made stand-alone, light weight midi controllers.

So hey guys, a while back I bought Aen's minibrute which was cool but I sold it to fund a Gibson RD purchase I was wanting. Now I'm looking to get synths again but I really don't desire the minibrute as the bass wasn't pumping and although the sounds were nice and agressive, I couldn't get much mellowness out of it. I'm looking for a new (or old) synth that can either provide nice thumping bass and aggressive sounds, or one with a nice polyphony with great pad sounds.

Cost at the moment is up in the air since I'm in no rush and willing to save.
I was looking at the Moog the Rogue, Lil Phatty, Roland SH 09 or 101, Roland Juno something or other, korg shit, and whatever possibly else.

A nice feature if it's mono would be to have all the functions one knob per function so it's easy to learn to create new patches, if it's polyphonic and has nice pads it can be as complicated as need be.

I have a Waldorf Blofeld keyboard which does everything you mentioned pretty much. Interface is sort of complicated because there aren't a lot of knobs but it's infinitely tweakable, such a versatile piece of kit.
Should be under a grand so may be worth looking at, I can't really comment on any of those you mentioned though.

Definitely has an interesting sound to it, since it's new I'm definitely going to go out and try it a bit see if I can get some good things going on with it.

Searching around forums tends to suck because synth forums tends to be like "guh these cheapers synths don't sound good or fat" then continue it by telling me to buy something around 2000-3000 price range. For that price, I could just buy a whole synth, sequencer, large bass amp, and laptop combo.

^yea if u mess around with almost any synth for long enough, u will start to realize that it actually has a very large sonic palette.
obv some things do certain things better or easier than others, but a shitton of sounds are usually in there

I think I'm going to shoot for a Moog Rogue/prodigy/micro ( I guess I got to mod it for CV for sequencing?), some sort of roland/korg sequencer, and then a decent cheap bass amp.

Woah that looks motherfucking intense. I likey

just listened to some sounds, I definitely like it and at that price point it's around the same as the rogue and cheaper than a prodigy or micro or mopho

I was looking at modding one for guitar input but when I open the schematics I found out it actually has a decent guitar input already. that might be relevant on this forum.

I bought a white Minitaur a week ago. I hooked it up with my MF 102, ran it through my bass rig, and my ears haven't been the same since.
