New Stay Here 7" (FFO: Neurosis/Buried Inside/Old Man Gloom)

Post by tashiattack »

Hello fellow ILF's,

my new(ish) band is releasing a 7". If you're into heavy and dark music, please give it a listen and let me know what you think! We used some pretty gnarly gear to record too and i'd be happy to share all the info.

Prob 5$. Sorry I should have been clearer. The label hasnt received any copies of the records yet im hoping they will be available by june. I'm assuming its going to get distro in the us. Otherwise shipping might be a bit from Canada. We're touring the states in August and details are being worked out right now.

You can't just leave a tease like that and not expect us to take the bait. YES! Of course we're interested in the gear! Spill the beans! Preferably with photos for us to drool over, if you've got any.

This is what we used to record with,

Amps: 1982 Fender Twin Reverb with eminence swamp thangs , Verellen Meatsmoke and a 60-watt Green Matamp with a custom 2x15 cab with eminence common wealths. The bass was recorded with the meatsmoke & 2x15.

Pedals: The distortion on the first two amps were used with a timmy & sonic distortion clone stacked, the latter was just boosted. I think we might have used a layer of the pharaoh fuzz too. Wet, Bluesky, El Capistan, and RV-5 for reverbs and delay, and a M9 and Cae-Wah for noise. There was also a Roland Space echo Re-201 used. Bass was boosted with an SFT, and a tad bit of EQD dispatch master.

Guitars: Heavily modded squire tele with p90s & a fender tele baritone with humbuckers. I honestly can't remember what our bass player uses, but I think it's an ibanez with active pickups (I'm not a huge fan).

I'll take gear shots this week. All the gear is ours except the Matamp and the Space Echo which was the recording engineers.

I snapped a photo of my setup at jam. Couldn't get one of Mariful's setup though.

Both guitars use Manlius guitar pickups. Modern Vintage PAFs in the tele deluxe and T90s/Studbucker in the blacktop baritone. Wiring is all stock, but I'm planning to upgrade them at some point soon (probably 500k pots).

The cab is built by Roadhouse cabs - a local company. They do good work and provide similar quality to Emperor for prices that are far more reasonable in Canada. Good guys as well.
