Reverb pedal question. Something like the RRR.
So this thread started in a different direction (see below) but I realized that what I need is just a recommendation. I really like the Dr. Scientist Reverberator and have owned it twice. But I always have no problem letting it go when I need the cash. So instead of being mostly happy with the pedal I wanted opinions. I love the Plate settings on the RRR. The one thing that I don't like about the RRR is that the decay is a switch instead of a pot. I would love to be able to push the decay time even further than what is available (i.e. Dispatch Master / BSR type of long decays) but still get a good sound when I want a normal/shorter decay time. This is what I didn't love about the Dispatch Master... the long decays were fantastic but I was not a huge fan of the pedal with shorter decays. So, what else should I try?
------------------------------------------------------------ (previous thread below)---------------------------------------
I have a The Cleanness coming to me that I picked up strictly as trade-bait because I got a good price on it. My main interests are for a reverb. I was planning on going for a Dr. Sci RRR... but now the Strymon Bluesky has caught my attention. Obviously a Bluesky is worth more than The Cleanness but how much cash would you think I'd need to put with it (I won't have box or manual for Cleanness) to make it a fair trade? I've owned a couple RRR's and love the pedal but have let both go during times of need. Before I pick up another RRR is the Bluesky worth the extra cash?

Re: The Cleanness, RRR & Strymon Bluesky... questions
I've no idea, but that's a sweet The Cleanness. Dig those red knobs.

Re: The Cleanness, RRR & Strymon Bluesky... questions
The more I am reading the more I think I might just stick with trading this for an RRR and saving my money. The Bluesky reviews really high but a lot of Bluesky vs. RRR write-up's I've seen put the RRR more in line with what I want... and I save some cash. I would love to get some of those rich plate sounds the Bluesky has but is it worth it?

Re: The Cleanness, RRR & Strymon Bluesky... questions
while i've only owned the RRR
i will say that, i have bought pedals only to sell them and then want them back again. the ones i did get back, 9 times out of 10 i ended up getting rid of again.
its kind of like an ex girlfriend.. just don't go back.
doesn't always hold true, but it helps me.

When you put it in the "ex-girlfriend" perspective it all makes sense.

Alright, updated the post a bit. Basically I want to find a verb pedal like the RRR but with a pot for the decay instead of the switch the RRR has. Any recommendations?

If you want some options and the possibility of ridiculous trails, look into a Red Panda Context! The short decay sounded great on the demos I heard, as well. It's got room, hall, cathedral, plate, gated and delay modes, and a designated decay knob
Also, Boss RV3 has yet to fail me. Good cheaper alternative?

If you want some extremely versatile and cheap check out the Muza FD-900 "M-Ambience" I use it along with my RRR and Analog Delay to pick up what those may not be able to dit. Full function delay and reverb for 80? Yes please.

I tried a BlueSky a while ago but in my opinion it had nothing on the Stereo Wet I had next to it, I don't know, the BlueSky sounded thin and unnatural in comparison.
If you like the RRR (which seemingly is more of natural sounding reverb) than I think the BlueSky is probably not going to cut it, to stay with Strymon the Flint would possibly be a better option I guess.
That Red Panda Context does sound amazing in the video's, I think some people here took the plunge on it but there's not many reviews on it so far.
The Ghost Echo seems to get quite some praise here.

the Ghost Echo sounds like the plate reverb on OK Computer to me. it really only does a couple of things, but it does them superlatively.

I really like my line 6 verbzilla, I will say however I've never tried another reverb pedal. I haven't really needed another one either!

Re: Reverb pedal question. Something like the RRR.
I have (had) a RV-3, a RRR, and BlueSky at the same time.
I parted with the BlueSky.
If I were to get a third reverb pedal again, it would be a second RRR, or possibly a spring reverb.
