The old ones with the pointy knob that came in a wooden box are way better than the newer ones, I'd try to get one of those if you can.
good deals with: the_brow, phantasmagorovich, alexsga, DarkAxel, goroth, The Wood Wizard, Tendollarcat, vbps, monkeydancer, intothegroove, Brobee

I like the Arion bass distortion for some reason.
Guyatone... the little ones...

When I was in high school I really wanted that Black Noise pedal because it was marketed as a heavy industrial distortion. Youtube and the like did not exist at the time and no stores around me carried. I always wondered what it sounded like; I suspect probably really scooped?

EDIT: haha from an ebay item descrip:

"It works. Tone-wise, it's a mid-scooped distortion. If you have ever had a Crate practice amp with the built-in distortion, and really wanted that in pedal form, you are about to find your dream distortion. "

That sounds pretty damn good on bass!

Steal of the century: Digi RDS-series rackmount delays.

All the fun of the PDS pedals with more control, options, and without the retarded price tag.

I am very intrigued by this right here.

Big fan of the Arion Stereo Chorus and the Arion Flanger. Both have their own really excellent sound.
I'm more like a mids-ist than a bassist.

I'd bet a Coke it's another clone of the Boss CE-5 like my $10 Starcaster Chorus is, except this one keeps the stereo output. The Starcaster is good for a shimmery, "etched" sounding chorus. The Guyatone MC-3 is better at a thick, warm sound which is kind of pulse-y like a Uni-Vibe. That's why I have both.

This thing is SO fat. I could get to pseudo bass boosted sounds. I've never had a chorus that really worked to add fatness and shimmer to your sound like that one.

Rfurtkamp's Suggestion: Boss gl-100
Rack Format though.
But an awesome Palette of 80ies Boss stomp Box Sounds and highly customizable with parametric mid controls.

DOD FX20B... not the FX20C 4 stage version or the crappy two knobs FX20. The fx20b was basically a six stage small stone with more control.
The extra stages and resonance could make it pretty gritty sounding. It's not a do everything phaser. it does what it does. You will find it useful or not. It was the first pedal i ever owned, so maybe it's nostalgia.

Rocktron Austin Gold- This pedal probably would have been a huge hit had it included a tone control. I'll admit it will not work with a lot of amps. Sounds terrible through my fender twin.
I gigged with it for years and still have it around somewhere.
