Here are the clips Sorry about the volume thing......... Both the Tuned and the Sovtek were a little hard to control without starting and stopping.....
In clips start with fuzz at min then 12 O'clock then max
I didn't fiddle with the tone controls on any of them, all are strait up. I find the Tuned works better for me live then the others.. It's funny direct the BBM has more lows then the tuned, but through my amp it was the other way 'round
anyway great clips. teh Big Muff sounds good on bass. had a hard time figuring out which one i thought sounded teh best but i think the BBM sounded the best. the Sovtek & the GGG kind of sounded the same. i think they all would sound amazing w/ a nice loud bass amp.

Sorry why? that is why I did this.
I've had that Sovtek for over 10 years, I love that pedal much but for live I either get mud or I disappear I Like the tuned best because of it's mid-heavyness which just "works" for me. The BBM is also my least favorite. "to me" it sounds really lo-fi, which is why I will keep it but I don't think it will ever make the board.

They do!?!?!?!??! Ok, from what I was told, people hated the Sovtek ones and they were sold for real cheap and no one wanted them, like if you threw it in the trash, the garbage man would give it back to you... I guess I should check the bay more often...

hmm... maybe you're thinking of the current black Russian ones?.. the old green Sovteks like the one mudfuzz used here still usually fetch a three digit used price.
great clips, mudfuzz, and thanks! i like how you can hear the denser fuzz in the Sovtek and Tuned muffs on the last of the three runs.
I’ve never been a Big Muff fan, but I do like the sound of the Green Sovetek best, and would probably buy one if I came across one reasonably priced. Ok I do own a Sanford & Sonny Bluebeard tuned muff clone, but prefer the sounds of my ILF boxes.

The black ones maybe, I didn't like them when they first came out but the newer EHX Russian version [same thing really] are quite nice. I just picked one up at GC for $50 and I think it is "all that", wipes the floor with the BBM IMOP.

Maaaaaaan... I had an old green Sovtek that I got for $25 back in '93 or '94, which I traded a few years back because it was too hissy.
I can't remember what I got in trade, but I can guarantee you it wasn't triple-digits worth of trade... d'oh...
