I'm not too familiar with components.. what pedals out there using the pt2399s and what distinctive differences?

Any "boutique" delay with analogue voicing and around 600ms of delay is going to be a pt2399. Some of the newer stuff is DSP, and most of that is based on the spin fv1. Like the good officer said on the previous page, there aren't that many differences in the pt delays.

Yup what he said.

The main differences will basically come down to the other features the builder has added (ranging from the mix control to using two PT2399s for extended delay time or multihead style repeats and everything in between).

You can also filter the repeats differently for a brighter or darker sound, but the fundamental character of the repeats will basically be the same from one model to another.

Also unrelated but dang I really need to learn how to use the spin fv1!

To those who were interested to buy the delay, you better be quick !!!!!!

It was 295$ when I created the thread and now it's 315$..

So yeh, he stole the design of DBA, and now the way he prizes his pedals (a la Echo Dream 1 !)
