Yay Australians! Check out tangled thoughts of leaving if you haven't already. They're from Perth.
Also check out Storm & Stress. And Don Caballero (if they count, maybe more math rock but close enough)

And So I Watch You From Afar. Their latest album is a little disappointing, but the self-titled and 'Gangs' are both stellar.

They are from Austin and did the music for that TV show...

Friday Night Lights. And they did the score for the movie too. Kinda weird that they would pick a post-rock band to do the music for a football show. That's definitely not the core audience for music like that.

two bands who always get way too overlooked in this discussion. I'd also add Rachels and especially Cerberus Shoal.

65daysofstatic live was one of the best experiences of my life, i barely knew their music but was on the barrier at the front and it was like being taken to another world

my favourite post rock band is sleepmakeswaves
another bunch of aussies, who also happen to be some of the nicest people ever, make rocking music and have great taste in gear

other bands: solkyri (also aussies), kyu (kind of post rocky), asiwyfa are cool too
