that sounds awesome, how did you implement microcassettes into your performance?

well. to be brief. i recorded w/ it. just ran it out to my DJ Mixer.

but the person who put out the compilations, last October he played here & his (noise) performance i think he used like two microcassette players and a couple of Moogerfoogers; if i am not mistaken it was him manipulating the fast forward tape speed.

this is relevant to my interests. please elaborate.

Haha, well, I can't say I know any floppy disk labels right off the top of my head, but it's not uncommon for people to do self-releases/splits on floppies... This seems to be more prevalent with the "Shit" and "Noise" core folks, and, to a lesser extent, "Digi Grind".

har-har... I still don't have a properly-working recorder/player to listen to them (mine was already acting up when I recorded my own submission)!

Which volume were you on?

haha... so you were.

My player is messed up, so I never even bothered trying to play the tape for fear of messing it up, and I never really checked the artist list.

Also, it is online... I put my track on myspace, haha.

My X called me today; she bought a “Night Hawks” cassette for 11 Cents.
Fwiw our first date was a Night Hawks concert; The Cobras with Stevie Ray Van was the lead off band.

Tapes are cool. :thumb:

I still have hundreds of them (http://rateyourmusic.com/collection/Jenesis/oo,fmt.Cassette), though most I've downloaded on MP3 for iPodding.

I love not being able to accurately skip between tracks.

Having been a child of the 70s and a teen in the 80s.. I have had my share of cassettes in my collection.

I have had a love/hate relationship with them.. but I do like that (esp. in the noise genre) releases can happen quickly and in whatever quantity you want.

Yup... no signal = "track end"... that's how mine works (you can set it to do that or not)... but the play head is stuck in place, and it's generally a shittily-built deck.
