Just bought this and I've seen other amps with plugs in the back. Older ones more so than recent ones, except bass. Can I use these for power or is it for something I'm unaware of at the time? It'd be so easy to plug my other head right into it if the power requirements match up.

Re: Amp plugs
Yes be care full with heads but pedals always... They were meant for stackin heads back in the day but be careful cause that one and most of 'em look jacked... If you have an outlet tester try that first or you can get one for cheap at any hardware store... It's cheaper than blowing something...

Re: Amp plugs
I didn't know they were ever intended for stacking amps, I figured shit like RE's and Echorecs.

holy big pic fuck
Yeah, this terminal is in question, but I'm going to test it most certainly...see if I can replace it. Thanks!

Re: Amp plugs
people back in the early 70s used to power-chain amps using the rear AC receptacles and their ground switches to keep the amps on the same ground polarity to avoid electrical shock. you see them on combo amps--e.g. Fenders--from that period as well as heads. this was in the days when few buildings were wired for three-prong outlets, and grounded surge-protectors were way off in the unimagined future.

Whoa, that seems so sketchy. I feel like so much, could and would go wrong.

Re: Amp plugs
indeed. i got zapped in the teeth by mics and zinged by touching another player more than once. but it was better than plugging into individual 2-prong outlets and trying to get the grounds matched.

Re: Amp plugs
I used mine for Echoplex/Space Echo/reverb tanks back in the day.
Current amps don't have them generally because I am almost willing to bet money that UL and insurance regs won't allow it without a ton of (expensive) safeguards.
