Why haven't you picked up the Moog yet? The EAR DLX will probably more expanse than it.

For the reverb I'm thinking about the Cathedral and\or the Ghost Echo, for delay Hazarai or Disaster Trasport SR.

For those options, I'll go with ghost echo + DTSr .. I've owned the hazarai in the past, I loved the crazy reverse.. but overall no comparison against the Sr. It's just currently the most advanced, feature packed, very intuitive and great sounding delay pedal in a simple hands-on interface in the market in my opinion.

My timeline is a long goner, for me Strymon is like.. a cool series of cold sounding effect boxes that you'll get tired of it cos it's been overly played everywhere and became a mass delay sound and too familiar + hygienic. I almost 100% sure that anyone with strymon would ended up selling theirs eventually. Again, it's my worthless .02

Exactly, I think nowadays the El Capistan is more standard sounding than the DD, or better, the DD3 more cooler and less standard sounding. Strymon pedals ar good for play at home or in studio, they disappear in the mix, yesterdey I was playing with my second band a psychedelic jam, It was impossibIe to hear the shimmer of the bluesky, and the El Cap's trails. think I'Il go with the Ghost Echo for spectral reverberating soundscapes and the Disaster SR for oscillating madnes (no tap tempo). I have the whole life for buying Cathedral (again) and the Hazarai!

Can't really tell on famous bands.. but I got tired of hearing bands around me (mostly p&w) and some of my friends' for strymon pedals in particular, or even youtube videos with their repetitive/looping ambient crap with their delay pedals in general(not that I hate ambient music).. just toooooooooo predictable. Maybe it's becos I grew up listening to crappy & noisy music with lots of feedbacks and ballsacks, makes me love some doses of nastiness in my guitar sounds and hate the sparkling studio quality sonically

Is it just me thinking this or does the player have a lot more to do with the pedal sounding 'predictable' than anything else?
I like my El Cap because it's well laid out and versatile as far as tape delay emulation goes.
I'm pretty sure if all these guys switched to Moog or EAR to play their 'repetitive looping crap' on it would still sound just as bad
Anyway, as far as replacements go, I personally wouldn't recommend the Hazarai unless you don't plan on using the looper or switching presets often. Other than that it's quite a good sounding pedal.
The VFE blueprint is definitely a unique delay too, sits nicely in the mix and the modulation can get pretty whacked, I would have kept mine but I need tap tempo.

Supermoon is awesome. It actually has some surprisingly subtle room/hall type sounds in there as well
