handheld noise generator

Post by eatyourguitar »

this is an analog pseudo white noise and pink noise generator. I don't care about being %100 true to the definition of the word white noise, I just want some noise and a low pass filter knob. there is an off-board power switch if you run it from 9v battery power. so far this is not tested but I don't think there will be any problems. if it works when I get these in, I can provide boards really cheap like $3 + ship. you can also run it from bi-polar power supply and larger voltages if you just change some resistors. stick it in your modular. go bananas.

I just tested this today and I'm happy to say that it works. I needed to change R6 to 1M to get the best results. with R6 at 10M or omitted, it becomes a digital noise generator with drunken square waves. this might actually be kinda cool if your sick of most drone boxes being totally stable tone generators. drunken square is like Tibetan throat singing in how the pitch wobbles slightly but not too much. with the filter wide open you have some white noise-ish sounds. I wired my power switch to break V- and I wired the sleeve to ground. do not connect V- to ground.

if anyone wants the 1-layer file you can just ask for it in the thread.
