Megalith is great, so is Magnetar.

I'm finding lately that it really depends on the bass you have. Do you use an active or passive bass? What kind of bass is it? The answer seems to vary depending on the actual bass, for me at least. I've found that more pedals are working well and as intended with my Roscoe, which is an 18v active. Makes no sense because normally you'd think they'd work better with a passive, but I think it's because the 18v overdrives everything and makes it sound amazing.

That being said, I've tried a LOT of fucking fuzz. The top of the list for me with low end intact, good tone, and overall usefulness would be the following: Prescription Electronics Depth Charge, Smallsound/Bigsound TAFM, Second Voice Deluxe (with just fuzz mode on, he really needs to make this a separate circuit), Dwarfcraft Devices Great Destroyer and Mountainking Megalith.

There are many others, but these are the ones that really stood out because of versatility and overall quality.

I play a Geddy Lee Fender Jazz bass with Seymour Duncan Quarter Pounders. My tone is a very big aggressive mid pushed sound. I still get plenty of low end.

I've always wanted to try the Eau Claire. I'm also a big fan of Smallsound/Bigsound. The Sparkle Motion for my guitar gig is always on. I will definitively try those two.

Thanks!

I can say that a TAFM, an ECT, or a Megalith will get the job done

Yep, that'd be my list for the basics as well. Good stuff.

I suppose I could go in to more detail since I currently own a Megalith and an Eau Claire Thunder and had a TAFM at one point.

-The Megalith is the most thick, saturated fuzz I've ever used. Dark and sludgy with tons of sustain.
-The ECT isn't quite as saturated but retains alllll of the lows, also you can dial in a tone that is a lot more cutting and with more clarity on chords. It's definitely a tighter fuzz too. Overall I'd say I can get a wider range of tones out of the ECT than the Lith.
-The TAFM was, to me, kind of in between the two. A bit more saturated than the ECT but not as brutal as the Megalith. Probably had the tightest low end of any high gain fuzz I ever played.

((I'm a guitar player for what it is worth, I tune down quite a bit but not to the level of a bass))
If you want extremely saturated fuzz with the hugest low end, I'd go Megalith. I think my Eau Claire Thunder still narrowly edges out the Lith as my favorite though.

 behndy I love you.

So I plugged my Eau Claire Thunder in to play it once last time since I'm trading it tomrrow. Such a mistake. I still love it. Crushes and feeds-back in a way the TAFM just don't do. I guess I'll be picking up a Baby Thundaa soon.

Dude. The Box of War is terrible on bass. No low end at all.

Get a Woolly Mammoth clone for one third the price

Active bass users like myself can get a cool switch put in to go between active and passive
