Music for getting shit done

Post by goroth »

Ok, this is the second "gimme new music ILF" thread I've started in as many weeks, so good work goroth for being a douchey thread starter, but whatever. I'm in a rut listening-wise! While slowly working my way through the drone thread (no pun intended) I'm also feeling the need for good music when you just have to smash out stuff at work. What makes you amped to get stuff done? Genre doesn't matter, just the invocation of the desire to get stuff done.

This is currently doing good things.

Eurobeat, no shit. The worse, the better. Eurobeat's got no reservations about being as cheesy as possible, it doesn't hold back.

I know you already listen to them, but Sepultura is good for that sort of stuff, too.

Also have good luck with 80's hardcore--Bad Brains, Minor Threat, The Dead Kennedys, and so forth. Throw on a pandora station of that stuff and you're good to go!
good deals are here.

Good call on Slayer and Sepultura - Dead Embryonic Cells is definitely one of those songs where the tempo forces you to work.
Jello's voice and lyrics get me too wound up to do anything other than smash McDonald's windows, so that aint gonna work.

What, like Scooter?

I'm totally making a playlist out of this thread on Monday.

Nah, more like the shit in Initial D. If a song doesn't have at least four instances of lyrics like "baby, let's burning up the night" or "crazy ultra super love", I don't think it qualifies as "eurobeat". It must also incorporate frequent orchestra hits.

Based on my INTENSIVE RESEARCH, it seems as though there are really only like five people making all of the existing songs under different artist names, they're all Italians aiming for the Japanese crowd, and they have a bizarre attraction to the word "bazooka", using it in song titles as often as possible

Achtane dude, I'm totally listening to all two hours of that clip at work. If I get fired for what it eventually does to my output I'm moving in and mooching off you.

 Godspeed.
Hey, if it comes down to that, think of all the stuff we could get done with BOTH of us at 200%. It's like super-cocaine. That's why they call it "Hi-NRG".
But the NRG-comedown, man...watch out.

depends what i'm doing. if i have to blast myself into awareness, it's the Stooges, Sex Pistols, Soundgarden, or Mission of Burma. for stuff to groove along with in the background while concentrating on something else i like old-school British rave music--Orbital, Underworld, the Orb, Aphex Twin before he fractalized--and live Phish concerts of the sort where they toy with a single chord for a half-hour at a time.
