what's the difference between your radioshack transducers and something like say the "K&K Pure Western"?

I had the fishman piezo bridge that comes on the Nashville Power Deluxe tele's. I HAD to get rid of it, it sounded really cheesey, didn't like it at all. I odn't even like the highs produced by piezo's in my speakers.

Well they can't sound very good if a guy had to make a pedal so they didn't sound like dick.

Yes. My only experience is with double bass, but from my limited time with it the realist I have now is better than the fishman I used to use. Haven't done a side by side but you can hear the difference imo. I imagine the same would be true for guitar stuff. YMMV with 'better' or 'worse' though, depends what you're looking for.
