never heard of that one. checking it out.

yeah, so i got a few now, i havent tried out the biscuit yet, but so far im not really digging them on my pedalboard. the idea was a lot cooler than the actual practically of their use.
though i got a wolf cpu a long time ago, and i realy loved it combined with some other pedals.
but as far as guitar goes, i really dig the shoe pedals pixelfix a lot more than i do, say, the geiger counter.

How are you using them and what would you like to achieve?

I find it's usually best to put the bitcrusher after dirt, because in that case you hear more of the bitcrushing effect if you use both together.
Modulation effects also seem to work better before the bitcrusher in my experience so far.
On the other hand, if you have a relatively bright/harsh bitcrushing effect like the Frantabit a drive unit after it can tame the highs a bit and make it sound even more synthy (definitely on settings with very low bit depth), using a filter pedal after it can also help tame the highs a bit (the Xerograph Deluxe and the Frantabit are specifically designed to work together).

I have the mix relatively low if I'm going for more subtle sounds but offcourse the Geiger Counter can't do that so it has a bit of a different use I guess.
Every bitcrusher seems to have it's own use in my experience so far.
For those beautiful sample rate reducing harmonic artifacts in a guitar pedal the Hexe Bitcrusher III still can't be beat I think.

It could also be that you like ring modulation or ringmod fuzz better though, or it might be better suited for the sounds you're looking for.
In that case you could look into the Copilot Orbit / Idiotbox Death Ray for instance, they can cop sounds that are quite close to the more harsh bitcrushing sounds, especially if you use a foot pedal to sweep through the frequency range it's got that spaceship take off quality the Hexe Bitcrusher III has when I switch on the LFO / modulate function.

Again, these are just my thoughts / experiences so far, I don't know, maybe it helps. ;)

I know we've been over this and I hate to bump old threads, but I'm pretty sure Russian Circles did here:

Some fucking asshat on ebay sold me a fried 8 bit duck. Fucking cunt. Confirmed with Luke at Luck Duck, he fried it by putting the wrong polarity onit

Cunt

Obviously buyer protection program, but what a cunt.

I knew something was off when I noticed the pedal was insured. How many times before have I seen a pedal shipped via USPS that has been insured? Zero.

Are you talking more chordal (powerchords etc.) riffing or single note style and what kind of sound are you trying to get with the bitcrushers?
Is the clean stuff more arpeggio or melody kind of stuff or more chords strumming?

single note riffing mostly
as often happens, it sounded cooler in my head than it did in reality

I'm trying to think along, are you looking for mayhem, craziness and freakiness that's still controllable or something along those lines?
In that case I think my previous suggestion to look for a ringmod or ringmod type fuzz might not be far off, unless you already tried some of those and it also wasn't what you were looking for offcourse.

on ebay etc people are always cutting corners, this is seriously the first time i have ever seen a USPS package that had an "insured mail" sticker on it in many years.
this guy is obviously trying to commit mail fraud because he broke his pedal running the wrong polarity adapter into it. cunt.

Okay, I didn't get why you mentioned that before but maybe now I understand what you are getting at.
In the youtube video's I could find the Pixelfix seems to have a bit of a computergame type sound but it's also quite synthy and maybe even reed/brass like to me.
Some other fuzz pedals I tried that can do that kind of stuff are: Blackout Effectors Fix'd Fuzz Deluxe (fuzz 1 + fuzz 2 + filter with everything quite high up), Mooer FOG (I guess this is some sort of Woolly Mammoth clone), Zvex Mastotron.
Another one to watch might be the Infanem Second Voice maybe, that can also get quite synthy and computergame like.
Copilot also has this brutal synthy taint to them but in case of the Orbit it can take on some spaceship take off quality as well.

yup u got a pretty good idea what im after...

it all started with the wolf computer for me

i kind of want to try a squarewave fuzz pedal, never have....

i have a mastotron on the way, because i love the idea of being able to tailor the waveform however i want....

i like combining pedals, so something sorta atari like or glitchy i can combine with a separate fuzz is perfect

i have been looking for a fixd fuzz deluxe used as well..but they never show up on ebay
