Oh the M9 looks great, I'd deffinetly buy one instead of one of the Line 6 modelers.

Re: Line 6 Em Nine
I've got a Line 6 Pod XT Live and I hate that thing. You can get some fantastic sounds out of it but I'm finding that one multi-effects just can't do it all. I'm having a blast buying single pedals that are made purely for one type(s) of sound. I'm opposite that one dude where I have my Pod XT Live unplugged, and my Swollen Pickle plugged in! If anyone is interested in my Pod XT Live we could probably work something out. Oh, I also hate digging through parameter menus to tweak sounds (on any multi-effects unit). I just like all the knobs within reach. I like to play, not program!

Re: Line 6 Em Nine
Everything is a compromise.
I've used a few multiFX units but always find myself wanting more than they can give,
and the interface is not as efficient as separate pedals, though instant patch recall can be nice.
I'l keep using pedals because I like being able to plug an overdrive into a fuzz, or a flanger into a chorus, among other things.
One day someone will probably get the design of multiFX units just right.

I've used the M13, and the L6 modulers and there both solid. I'm getting this (at a big employee discount
) and now I have more room on a board for fuzz and ODs.
I'll still probably keep a chorus and analog delay though.

Good, idea, the chorus on the MM4 kinda sucks...

Might as well just get the M13 then, only $50 more.

Well, for me at least, part of the appeal, is it has basically all the effects of the M13, but it's not GINORMOUS.

It's a little pricey. But for delays, verbs, filters and some modulation, it's totally worth it. I can have up to twelve effects per face (doubling with expression pedal), and then have three (or more per exp) effects at once. Which is the equivilent number I'd be able to have with 3 of the modulers and I'd be at around $750 minus reverb and pitch stuff.
It's a win win in terms of footprint. I didn't like the huge size of the m13.

I have a GNX4 and it sounds pretty damn decent. I don't mind the distortions too much, but the wah on it is pretty whack. It also has a Whammy and "intelligent" harmonizer built in which both, I think, sound really good. It's quite versatile, really.
